Tell us a bit about your play
It’s a comedy about a writer who is struggling to finish her novel and keeps being interrupted by her main characters who think their literary suggestions are better.
What is your day job?
I’m a TV/Film Extra.
What you do love about writing?
Everything. I love being immersed in another world where anything can happen.
And for balance...what you hate about writing?
Getting backache and leg cramp from sitting in front of a computer screen for hours on end.
What are you working on now?
A fantasy TV series based around reincarnation (can’t say too much at this stage) and my first novel - an accidental love story.
How do you relax?
I watch films. Currently I’m fascinated by silent movies; their visual creativity and ability to express so much without dialogue.
And the questions all writers get asked… where do you get your ideas?
I buy them at Inspiration! Inc for a very reasonable price. There’s a 3 for 2 deal on at the mo – so get down there while stocks last.
What music are you listening to right now?
I'm eclectic. I currently have an unhealthy obsession with Megan Mullally and Sia. Am also re-visiting Tori Amos and Judy Garland. Barbra Streisand, Johnny Cash and Britney Spears have also been making guest appearances. I like what I like, what can I say?
What are you reading?
I always try and have two books on the go so I can alternate if I get fed-up of one! So, Julius by Daphne Du Maurier and Conversations with Greta Garbo by Sven Broman.
Sum up your feelings towards the Bookends showcase in three words
Excited. Anxious. Hopeful.
