In Matt’s play Four O’Clock, fifteen year old Rob suddenly find himself face to face with his older (and wiser) self. Teens are self-confident and cocky one minute but the next they can be vulnerable and full of self-doubt. This got us thinking about the advice we’d
give to our fifteen year old selves if we bumped into them.

Paul’s advice is:
1) Chill out and have more fun... life is going to be good.
2) Use less hair gel... you look like Chaz Bono.
3) In 15 years time you're going to struggle to find a third piece of advice for your younger self?!
Siân has this to say:
1) You’ve ditched the national health specs and railway track braces so stop being so shy and get out there and have fun. 2) Secondary school is no fun at all but if you knuckle down and get those exams you’ll end up going to an all boys school for sixth form. Three girls. Several hundred boys. Start counting down the days, girl. 3) In a few years’ time you and your dad will end up being really good mates. The trouble is you’re just too alike. Be patient. |
Annie's pearls of wisdom:
1) Don’t go to University. Do a vocational course instead. 2) Be more forgiving of other people’s mistakes. It’s not deliberate, we’re all f*ck-ups. Cut them some slack. 3) Don’t cook the Vegetarian Rogan Josh curry you make for book club – it inadvertently becomes your signature dish and they expect it every time. In fact – don’t let on you can cook at all. It only leads to bad things. |
